Force Motors has launched the new 2021 Gurkha SUV just ahead of the festive season. The arch rival of Mahindra Thar, the new Gurkha is a more premium offering than its earlier counterpart. It is priced from Rs 13.59 lakh, ex-sh. Bookings are now open for an amount of Rs 25,000 across India. Delivery will start from Dussehra Day (October 15).
2021 Force Gurkha 4×4 – More Details
The second generation Force Gurkha gets an updated design and is loaded with state-of-the-art features that give it a more premium appeal. This gives a wide and long body. Its high strength C-in-C chassis and new coil spring suspension on all 4 wheels allow for perfect balance and superior ride quality on various surfaces, be it tarmac, rough road conditions or off road conditions.
It measures 4,116mm in length, 1,812mm in width and 2,075mm in height, while it rides on a 2,400mm long wheelbase. The 2021 Gurkha comes with five color options of Red, Green, White, Orange and Grey. Exterior updates include circular LED headlamps, integrated LED DRLs, a redesigned front grille with distinctive Gurkha lettering and vertically positioned tail lamps with LED stop lamps.
Sporty accents will extend along the rack for mounting the tent with black ORVMs, a snorkel and blacked out roof rails while tow hooks can be seen at the front and rear. The new Gurkha will ride on 16-inch steel wheels and black cladding with flared wheel arches on the front and rear bumpers.
The 2021 Force Gurkha will sport a new logo in place of the ‘F-logo’ seen on its earlier counterpart. It will showcase the bold stance of the Gurkha with its capabilities in different terrains and equally capable in all weathers. The brand logo shows the khukri being moved from left to right and aligned in the same angle as the air intake snorkel.

The interiors of the Force Gurkha also get a few changes with the new Midnight Black color scheme, captain seat at the rear with arm rest instead of bench and comfort with all power windows and cup holders. It will also sport a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital instrument cluster with dials, three spoke steering wheel and molded floor mats.
Force Motors has also added new safety equipment to the Gurkha which is the only vehicle in its class to get a full metal top offering in-class safety. It is offered with driver and co-passenger airbags, ISOFIX seating and ABS and EBD as standard. Safety devices include central locking, speed sensing door locks, rear parking sensors, tire pressure monitoring system and take me home and take me to Gurkha lamps.
The 2021 Force Gurkha will be powered by a 2.6-litre turbocharged diesel engine that will offer 115 hp power and 350 Nm torque at 1,400-2,400 rpm, negotiating a 35-degree slope in 44x low first gear and a depth of up to 700 mm. A 5-door version of the new Gurkha will be launched later to compete with the upcoming 5-door versions of Mahindra Thar and Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
