The most anticipated film of Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi titled “Chehre” finally got released after much delay. Directed by Rumy Jafry, the film was released on August 27 in theaters. Despite having a popular star cast, the film failed to garner a good box office collection so far. On its opening day, the movie couldn’t collect much. Though it was expected that the movie will pick up a pace in terms of collection, it failed to leave any mark and has been getting mixed responses from the viewers as well. Let’s check the total box office collection of Chehre.
Going by the latest report of Boxofficeindia.com, the movie only managed to collect 40 lakhs on Monday that could be considered not so impressive. Started with a dull response after its release across multiple theaters, the film has garnered Rs 2.25 crore. These are the figures of its 4-day collection. The courtroom drama got its maximum business from Delhi NCR and East Punjab regions while it miserably failed to get a decent response from other parts of the country. Undoubtedly, the picture didn’t reach the expectations of the viewers who were anticipating its release.
Apart from Emraan Hashmi and Amitabh Bachchan, Chehre features Anu Kapoor, Rhea Chakraborty, Siddhant Kapoor, and television actress Krystle D’Souza in crucial roles. The mystery drama battled against superstar Akshay Kumar’s recently released film “Bell Bottom”. Earlier, the makers have been deciding to release the film on OTT but later the idea was postponed and the makers went for its theatrical release. However, the makers faced disappointment as the film couldn’t collect much. Made under a big budget, the film was promoted on a good level but unfortunately, the slow-paced movie couldn’t engage many viewers. Since it was the second Bollywood’s big-budget movie to be released in August, viewers were also having high expectations.
Opened with Rs 45 lakhs collection, Chehre garnered 60 lakhs on Saturday. So far the film couldn’t earn big on its initial day of release. It is clear that the movie will face disappointment in the upcoming weeks as well. Interestingly, Amitabh Bachchan’s film failed to collect much than the Punjabi film titled “Chal Mera Putt 2”. The film collected an impressive figure of 1.15 crore on its second Saturday and is expected that the figures will rise in the upcoming days. Let’s see if the mystery drama manages to attract audiences in the upcoming weeks or not. Follow Social Telecast for more updates.
